Underrepresentation of leaders in healthcare
Joan is CEO and Founder of Several Seats. Several Seats is a female lead community that aims to promote mental health in women of colour from ethnic minority backgrounds. They champion young women with lived experience and strive to create a safe space for peer-to-peer support and learning, where women can finally have a seat at the table to explore the challenges of mental health. Joan is also a n Assistant Research Psychologist at Young Epilepsy & Great Ormond Street Hospital.

An award-winning Founder and Director of Strawberry Words Training and Development Company based in Birmingham, UK. Rebbecca has 20 years’ experience of delivering training in cultural psychology, antiracism, and community engagement. Her 7 minutes will be spent on bringing attention to the microaggressions faced by women from ethnic minorities.

You may already know of Dr Meenal Viz from her activism on better PPE for NHS staff during the pandemic. Whilst six-and-a-half months pregnant, she held a one-woman protest to campaign for the protection of healthcare workers. During this time Meenal witnessed first-hand the role privilege plays in activism.
